UNITI results

UNITI project finished in September 2023. It’s overall aim was to deliver a predictive computational model based on existing and longitudinal data attempting to address the question which treatment approach is optimal for a specific patient based on specific parameters. Clinical, epidemiological, medical, genetic and audiological data, including signals reflecting ear-brain communication, were analysed from existing databases. Predictive factors for different patient groups were extracted and their prognostic relevance were tested in a randomized controlled trial (RCT) in which different groups of patients underwent a combination of therapies targeting the auditory and central nervous systems.

Tinnitus TalkWe were delighted to welcome Tinnitus Hub, the most important online information platform for tinnitus patients as well as support group, with their forum Tinnitus Talk, and their director Hazel Goedhart, to our UNITI Kick-Off-Meeting in Athens (see report here).

We are especially grateful that Hazel will contribute her perspective and invalualbe experience to UNITI as a member of the project Advisory Board. Hazel now kindly shared relevant information and her views on Tinnitus Talk, and the corresponding forum thread can be accessed and contributed to here.

We thank Hazel and all the Tinnitus Hub team very much for their input and are immensely looking forward to working closely and fruitfully with this and the other patient organisations involved in UNITI towards a better understanding and treatment of the condition.
