UNITI results

UNITI project finished in September 2023. It’s overall aim was to deliver a predictive computational model based on existing and longitudinal data attempting to address the question which treatment approach is optimal for a specific patient based on specific parameters. Clinical, epidemiological, medical, genetic and audiological data, including signals reflecting ear-brain communication, were analysed from existing databases. Predictive factors for different patient groups were extracted and their prognostic relevance were tested in a randomized controlled trial (RCT) in which different groups of patients underwent a combination of therapies targeting the auditory and central nervous systems.

Chris Cederroth

It is with great pleasure that we announce that Christopher R. Cederroth, partner in the UNITI project, has become the new Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the Association for Research in Otolaryngology (JARO). Dr. Cederroth was former Associate Editor in the successful Frontiers Research Topic coordinated along with Winfried Schlee.

Christopher on his new role as editor-in-chief:

"I am currently expanding the board of Associate Editors to better reflect the broad scope of research presented at ARO’s annual meeting, but also to better represent tinnitus research. This is why I am also expanding the scope to include clinical trials and other large studies and improve the visibility of the research performed in the field.

JARO has been created 20 years ago and aims to publish experimental research in hearing and balance, in animals and humans, but also treatment of disorders, rehabilitation with hearing aids and cochlear implants, genetics, epidemiology, anatomy and physiology, psychoacoustics, among others.

  • I am delighted to be part of this adventure! With the success we had with Frontiers, there is a great likelihood of increasing the impact of JARO and raise it back to the first Quartile of the best journals in Audiology."

JARO is a Springer journal, and many countries benefit from open access agreements.
